How Topsail Oyster collects, uses, and protects your information.
Last updated: August 3, 2026
Topsail Oyster ("we", "us") is a digital guide to restaurants, shops, activities, and local services around Topsail Island. This policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, and the choices you have. We do not sell your personal information.
Account information: When you create an account, we store your name and email address so you can sign in and sync your saved items across devices.
Content you create: Favorites, saved searches, itinerary items, reviews, and event submissions you contribute.
Payment information: Advertising payments are processed by Base44 Payments (our payment provider). We never see or store your full card details — only a confirmation that a transaction occurred.
Usage information: Anonymous analytics such as which listings are viewed or tapped, and standard device/browser information, to help us improve the guide.
Business listings: If you claim or submit a business listing, we collect the details you provide (name, address, phone, website, images, and contact email).
We use your information to operate the app, display your saved items, process payments, deliver membership benefits, show relevant local content, respond to support requests, and improve our listings and features.
We share information only as needed to provide the service — for example, with Base44 Payments to process transactions, and with service providers that host data or deliver email. We may disclose information when required by law or to protect the rights, property, or safety of our users.
We keep your account information for as long as your account is active. You can request deletion of your account and personal data at any time from the Account page, which permanently removes your favorites, searches, itinerary, and reviews.
You may access, correct, or delete your personal data. To make a request, use the Delete account option in the app or contact us. If you are a California resident, you have rights under California privacy law, including the right to know what personal information we collect and to request its deletion.
The app is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. No method of transmission or electronic storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the updated version in the app with a revised "Last updated" date.
Questions about this policy or your data? Contact Base44 support and we will route your request to the Topsail Oyster team.
