Pump gas and diesel on the water at the fuel dock. Most carry oil, ice and bait; call ahead for hours off-season.
Boat Ramps & Launch
Public and marina ramps give trailered boats access to the Intracoastal and the New River. Mind tide depth — low water makes shallow approaches tricky.
Charter & Transient Dockage
Tie up for the day or overnight. Charter captains dock here; transient dockage is first-come for visiting cruisers on the ICW.
Before You Dock
- Call ahead for transient slips in summer — marinas fill up on weekends and around fishing tournaments.
- Mind no-wake zones in the Intracoastal Waterway and marina channels; speeds are enforced and fines are steep.
- Check tide depth at the ramp before launching — low tide can make shallow approaches tricky for bigger boats.
- Use pump-out stations; discharging overboard is illegal in North Carolina waters.
- Keep dock lines and fenders ready — currents run strong near the New River and Topsail inlets.
- Watch the weather and inlet conditions; both inlets shift quickly and are best on a calm, incoming tide.
